Plastic welding rods PE-MD - Polyethylene "medium density"
PE-MD (MDPE) has medium highly branched polymer chains, hence mean density (MD). PE-MD is less scratch-resistant than PE-HD. Polyethylene is the most widely produced plastic. Examples are the use of container, pipes, tanks, bottles, plastic bags and films.
Medium density polyethylene (PE-MD), also MDPE, is produced by chain polymerization of ethene and belongs to the group of polyolefins. The advantages of PE-LD and PE-HD are combined in the thermoplastic PE-MD. PE Plastics are the most widely used in the world. PE-MD has high chemical resistance and good electrical insulation. Polyethylene is of low strength, hardness and stiffness, it has high ductility and impact strength. The melting point of PE-MD is about 130°C to 145°C, the continuous use temperature is -50°C to 90°C.
