Plastic welding rods ASA - Acrylonitrile-Styrene-Acrylonitrile
ASA has properties similar to ABS - a high surface hardness, good impact resistance and good oil resistance - is much more resistant to weathering. Products from ASA have quality, glossy and scratch resistant surfaces. Examples of the use of ASA are board material, furniture, high-heat stressed casing of electrical appliances, sports and leisure activities (eg surfboards).
Acrylic ester styrene acrylonitrile (ASA), also called acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylic ester or acrylonitrile-styrene acrylate, is a synthetic terpolymer. ASA is more resistant to weathering as ABS. The surface is high-quality, shiny and scratch-resistant. In comparison to ABS, ASA also has a higher chemical resistance to dilute acids, alkalis, oils and fats as well as alcohols. It is dimensionally stable and can be sawn, drilled and cut. ASA can also be deep-drawn. The melting point of ASA is about 230°C to 250°C, the continuous use temperature is max. 80 to 100°C.
