Plastic plate ABS - Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene
ABS has a high surface hardness, impact resistance and good oil resistance. Examples of the use of ABS are, as is known, motorcycle and vehicle parts such as trim, bumpers and covers, electronic parts, toys, musical instruments and consumer goods with increased demands on impact strength.
Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) is a synthetic terpolymer. It consists of the three monomers acrylonitrile, 1,3-butadiene and styrene. ABS is dimensionally stable and can be easily sawn, drilled and cut. Coating with metals and polymers is also possible (e.g., chromium plated surfaces). ABS can be deep-drawn very well, due to its hygroscopic properties (up to 1.5% water absorption), sufficient drying should be ensured in advance. The melting point of ABS is approx. 230°C to 250°C, the continuous use temperature is max. 85 to 100°C.
